Boca Raton Children’s Museum

The Florence Fuller Child Development Center has administered and run the Boca Raton Children’s Museum for the last five years. The Children’s Museum provided activities and events to the community with the assistance of devoted volunteers, loyal patrons, sponsors, visitors, and members. While there is widespread support for the notion of a Children’s Museum, establishing the museum as a self-sustaining organization has proven difficult.

In December 2019, the Florence Fuller Child Development Center and the City of Boca Raton explored a possible operating, ownership, and management change. After December 19, it was decided that the Children’s Museum will close temporarily and reopen under the supervision and operation of the City’s Recreation Services Department.

When will it reopen?

The City will conduct an assessment and evaluation of the buildings, grounds, programs, exhibits, and financial situation. The Children’s Museum is scheduled to reopen in the spring.

What about memberships?

Membership questions should be directed to the Florence Fuller Child Development Center. Contact: 561-391-7274.

Will programming, hours and exhibits remain the same when it reopens?

City personnel will be reviewing programming requirements during the transition.

How can I get updates and information about the status of the Children’s Museum?

The City will communicate with residents and visitors via social media, the City website, and the Recreator about the status of the evaluation, programming, and reopening dates. Questions and comments can be sent to ChildrensMuseum@myboca.us.
