Sugar Sand Park

The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District developed and operates this 132-acre park, which continues the district’s commitment to enhancing the role of leisure and culture for residents and visitors alike.

Sugar Sand Park is a municipal park situated in Boca Raton, Florida. It was developed by the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District. It is administered by the City of Boca Raton. It has earned numerous accolades for excellence, such as “Best of the Best Parks” in 2007.

The Children’s Science Explorium, the Willow Theatre, and the Field House, which has an indoor gymnasium, are all located in Sugar Sand Park.

In 2017 the park was reopened following a big initiative to enhance the park and make it accessible to individuals of all abilities. The playground is entirely wheelchair accessible and numerous activity stations have been installed for the benefit of children with physical and cognitive impairments.

Recent visitors to Sugar Sand Park have described it as “phenomenal” for all ages, with some even referring to it as Boca Raton’s greatest park. Travelers spoke about the water park, sandbox, and carousel for little children, as well as the hands-on science center and theatrical performances for older children and teenagers.

Sugar Sand Park is located around two miles south of downtown Boca Raton. Daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., the park is open. Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for daylight savings time, when it continues to open until 8 p.m. From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the community center and gym are open. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday and holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
